House cleaning for new parents in Minneapolis

Someone else cleans for your first four weeks home

Swaddle is a three-person cleaning team. After the birth we come once a week for four weeks, text before we knock, and bring a fragrance-free kit.

  • Fragrance-free kit
  • A text before we knock
  • Quiet when you ask

The postpartum plan

What each of the four weeks holds

One visit a week, the same person where we can. You do not have to be dressed, awake or downstairs.

  • Week one

    Kitchen and bathrooms

The first visit starts with what you use most: counters and sink, both bathrooms, and the floors between them.

  • Week two

    Where you sleep

We dust and vacuum the bedroom and change the bed if you have set out clean linen. Laundry plans start the machine and fold what comes out.

  • Week three

The rooms you now live in

By now the living room has become the baby's. We clear what we can and leave anything that looks like a system exactly where it is.

  • Week four

    A reset

The last visit runs longest: baseboards, fridge shelves, cabinet fronts and what got skipped. Then we ask if you want a standing clean.

Plans

Pay once for the four weeks

Three plans, one payment each. Every plan lists what it includes and what it does not.

  • The four weeks

One clean a week for your first month home: kitchen, bathrooms, floors and the rooms you are living in.

    • Four weekly visits of about 2.5 hours
    • Kitchen, bathrooms, floors and dusting
    • Fragrance-free kit at every visit
    • A text before we knock
    Term:
Paid once, before the first visit; four weekly visits.
  • The four weeks with laundry

The same four weeks, longer visits, and the laundry that builds up folded and put on the bed.

    • Four weekly visits of about 3 hours
    • Two loads a visit: washed, dried and folded
    • Kitchen, bathrooms, floors and dusting
    • Fragrance-free kit at every visit
    Term:
Paid once, before the first visit; four weekly visits.
  • Before the birth, then four weeks

One longer clean in the weeks before the due date, then the four weekly visits after the birth.

    • One clean of about 3 hours, 2 to 6 weeks before the due date
    • Then four weekly visits of about 2.5 hours
    • Kitchen, bathrooms, floors and dusting
    • Fragrance-free kit at every visit
    Term:
Paid once, before the first visit; five visits.

Each plan is quoted for a home up to 1,400 sq ft with two bathrooms; larger homes are priced at the walkthrough text, and you see the number in writing before you pay. You pay once, before the first visit. The plan ends after the fourth visit and does not renew, so there is no yearly cost. Move a visit by text up to 24 hours ahead at no charge; with less notice it is billed. If the baby comes early or late, text us and the four weeks start from the day you are home. Cancel before the first visit for a full refund; after it, unused visits are refunded at the per-visit price on your receipt. Extra time on the day is quoted by the hour when we are free to stay; we ask you first. A plan is a prepaid cleaning schedule, not an insurance or protection policy.

A quiet visit

We text before we knock, and we keep the house quiet

You are tired and the baby may be asleep. Each visit starts with a text from Khadija, Elisa or Nhi about fifteen minutes before we arrive.

If it is a bad moment, tell us and we move the visit. Nobody minds, and the plan simply shifts.

How a visit goes

  • We knock softly, or text from the step, and never ring the bell

  • Vacuum last, or not at all if the baby is down

  • Shoes off at the door from November to March, on a mat for the salt

  • A key left with us, or a door you open: either works

What we bring

The fragrance-free list, room by room

We bring our own kit and use the fragrance-free version of every product on this list. The product names go in your first-visit text, so you can read each label yourself.

Kitchen

Counters, sink, stovetop and the outside of appliances.

  • Dish soap

For the sink and the dishes we wash to clean it. No fragrance added.

    Fragrance-free
  • All-purpose spray

For counters, tables and sealed cabinet fronts. No fragrance added.

    Fragrance-free
  • Stainless cloth and water

Appliance fronts get a damp cloth first, and a cleaner only if the cloth is not enough.

Bathrooms

Toilets, sinks, tubs, showers, mirrors.

  • Bathroom cleaner

For tile, tubs and sinks. We rinse it off rather than leave it to dry on a surface. No fragrance added.

    Fragrance-free
  • Toilet bowl cleaner

Used inside the bowl only, with the fan on. No fragrance added.

    Fragrance-free
  • Glass cleaner

For mirrors and shower glass, wiped dry. No fragrance added.

    Fragrance-free

Floors

Sealed wood, tile, vinyl and rugs.

  • Floor cleaner

Applied with a damp mop and a washed pad. No fragrance added.

    Fragrance-free
  • Vacuum with a HEPA filter

Equipment, so there is nothing to certify. We empty it outside your home.

Cloths and laundry

What touches the house and what we wash for you.

  • Microfiber cloths

Washed at our shop between homes and kept to one home per load.

  • Laundry detergent

For the loads on the laundry plan, and for our own cloths. No fragrance added.

    Fragrance-free

Fragrance-free means no fragrance was added to the product. It does not mean free of every ingredient someone could react to. Tell us what bothers you and we take it off your list.

Who comes to your door

Three people, and you will know which one before we arrive

Each visit starts with a text from whoever is coming, with their first name.

  • Khadija Jama

    Owner

Books every first visit by text and takes the Friday cleans. Ask her anything about the plan.

  • Elisa Orta

    Lead cleaner

Takes the Tuesday and Thursday visits and the laundry plans.

  • Nhi Banh

    Cleaner

Takes the Monday and Wednesday visits and the cleans before a birth.

What parents wrote after a visit

“Elisa texted from the driveway and had the kitchen and both bathrooms done while I fed the baby upstairs. I did not have to explain anything twice.”

Rahel B.Parent, second week of the plan

“The towels came back folded in the order we use them. It sounds small, but I stopped thinking about the hamper.”

Jair M.Parent, plan with laundry

“I paid from two states away and got a text with the schedule. My daughter only had to leave a key.”

Questions parents ask first

Do I have to be home?

No. Most parents are, since they cannot leave, but you do not have to be awake, dressed or downstairs. You can open the door, leave a lockbox code, or give us a key. Keys, codes and alarms are on the policies page.

When does the plan start?

On the date we set together once you have a due date. It moves if the baby comes early or late: text us and the four visits start from the day you are home.

What do you not do?

We do not watch the baby, wash bottles or pump parts, move cribs or heavy furniture, or clean up mold, pests or anything biological. If a job is outside the list we say so before the first visit.

Are your products fragrance-free?

Yes. We bring a fragrance-free version of every product on the list, at every visit. The product names go in your first-visit text so you can check each label.

I am still pregnant. Can I book now?

Yes. Text us your due date and we hold the four weeks around it. If you want one clean first, the before-the-birth visit is two to six weeks ahead.

Can someone else book it for me?

Yes. A parent, a friend or a coworker can book and pay. We text the parents the schedule and the name of the person coming.
